If you are an avid golfer, you have probably always dreamed about having a backyard putting green. Being able to practice your short game by just grabbing your putter and walking out into the back yard is going to compliment any golfer’s game, by giving them the ability to practice as much as they would like, for as long as they would like. You do not have to drive down to the local course and then go through all the trouble of getting set up just to put for a few hours, and instead you can just leisurely walk outside, take breaks when you want to in the comfort of your home, and even listen to the music that you like to while you are practicing. Any golfer knows that the game is won by hours of practicing your drive and your putting, and by simply investing a little bit into your home you can now improve your game as well. Most people who have putting greens installed into their yard have them made from artificial turf that is specifically cut and formed to simulate the short grass of a putting green, instead of attempting to plant real grass and maintain it. A putting green is unbelievably labor intensive to keep the grass healthy and yet the appropriate length for realistic putting practice, so building your putting green from synthetic materials instead of living grass is the perfect way to reduce the amount of care that will be necessary down to zero. The green is installed through a process of meticulously forming and shaping the ground under the artificial grass, then installing weed barriers and a specialized compacted fill material that will not create too spongy of a feel. This will allow the ball to roll correctly, and if installed perfectly it should not start to loosen or bag out for many years. The invention of the modern backyard putting green has improved the short game of countless golfers, but they have found that their practice time is limited to the daytime. Many true enthusiasts are now installing backyard putting green lighting in addition to their putting green, in order to extend the hours they can practice by nearly double. Now you can go out in the middle of the night and practice your putting in your own backyard, with the ability to accurately judge the distance because there is adequate lighting available at all hours. But how is backyard putting green lighting installed?
If you have an existing putting green, we are going to want to run the wiring for the lighting that is installed on posts around the perimeter of the green. We will do this specifically so as to avoid having to redo the putting green shaping and installation itself. If you are thinking about installing a backyard putting green into an area where there is currently something else, let us know before hand that you would also like lighting to be installed and we will be able to run the wires for the lights under the green before the installation takes place. Either way, you can enjoy practicing your game on your backyard putting green day or night, with the addition of putting green lighting.
